Description

Australia's remoteness is a first aid problem. On a farm two hours from the nearest hospital, on a remote construction site, or on a 4WD track well off the beaten path, a serious wound from machinery, a fall, or a vehicle incident needs to be managed with what is in the kit — not what is available at the nearest pharmacy. The Multi-Trauma Dressing is the large-wound coverage tool that serious Australian trauma kits carry for exactly that reason.

A highly absorbent, non-adherent wound pad with an integrated soft stretch bandage — large enough to cover blast wounds, crush injuries, major lacerations, and large burn sites, and fast enough to apply under pressure without additional materials. One product, one step, wound covered and secured. Read our guide to managing major trauma before an ambulance arrives — in remote Australia, this dressing is what buys the time that guide describes.

  • Large wound coverage for serious trauma — burns, crush injuries, major lacerations Sized for the wounds that standard first aid kits are not equipped to cover. Significant injuries from agricultural machinery, power tools, heavy equipment, and vehicles create wound surfaces that need large-format coverage from the first response — not a combine dressing stretched past its limits. Read why large wound coverage is a critical component of any serious Australian trauma module.
  • Highly absorbent, non-adherent — manages blood loss without sticking to the wound The absorbent pad handles significant blood and wound fluid without becoming saturated. The non-adherent surface protects the wound from secondary damage when the dressing is removed or adjusted — relevant for serious wounds where clinical staff at hospital need to assess and redress without causing further tissue trauma. Protects the wound from contamination during transport across Australian remote conditions.
  • Integrated soft stretch bandage — wraps and secures in one step The attached bandage applies and secures the dressing over the wound without needing a separate crepe bandage, elastic wrap, or tape. Fast to apply with gloved hands under stress. Stretches to conform to limbs, joints, and torso without restricting circulation. See how the multi-trauma dressing fits into a well-built Australian IFAK for remote and high-risk environments.
  • Vacuum sealed, sterile, compact — ready for remote Australian conditions Vacuum sealed to a compact format that survives the bottom of a 4WD kit, a site trauma bag, or a farm vehicle first aid pack without degrading. Sterile until the seal is broken. Read our guide to trauma-capable first aid kits for Australian trades and high-risk worksites. For hands-on trauma training, contact us on 02 6882 9056. Ships from Dubbo, NSW within 2 business days.
The Multi-Trauma Dressing is a core component in serious Australian trauma kits — farms, remote properties, construction, mining, 4WD, and anywhere the nearest hospital is a long drive away. FAQs

What is a multi-trauma dressing used for in Australian first aid?
A multi-trauma dressing is used to cover and manage large traumatic wounds — major lacerations, crush injuries, blast wounds, and large burn sites — in remote and high-risk Australian settings where ambulance response time is extended. The large absorbent non-adherent pad covers wounds that exceed standard dressing capacity, and the integrated stretch bandage secures it in one step without additional materials.

Why does a remote area or worksite kit need a multi-trauma dressing?
In remote Australian settings, serious injuries from machinery, farm equipment, vehicles, and falls can occur hours from hospital. A standard first aid kit contains dressings sized for minor to moderate wounds — not the large coverage required for major trauma. A multi-trauma dressing provides the wound coverage needed to protect and stabilise serious injuries during the extended wait for emergency services that is common in regional and remote Australia.

Is the wound pad non-adherent?
Yes. The wound pad has a non-adherent surface that prevents it from bonding to the wound as blood and exudate coagulate. This allows the dressing to be removed or adjusted by clinical staff at hospital without secondary tissue damage — important for serious wounds where wound assessment and redressing needs to happen without causing further trauma.

Does this dressing include a securing bandage?
Yes. An integrated soft stretch bandage is attached to the wound pad, allowing the dressing to be wrapped and secured over the wound in one step without needing a separate crepe bandage, elastic wrap, or tape. The stretch conforms to limbs, joints, and torso without restricting circulation.

Who should carry a multi-trauma dressing in Australia?
Anyone building a trauma-capable first aid kit for remote worksites, farms, construction, mining, 4WD, and any Australian environment where major wound injuries from machinery, equipment, or vehicles are a realistic risk and ambulance response time is extended.

How quickly does this ship?
The Multi-Trauma Dressing ships from Dubbo, NSW within 2 business days.

About Assurance First Aid Kits

It started back in 2008 when Samantha, a first aid trainer, kept getting the same question from her students: "But what kit should I actually buy?" After years of recommending products that didn't quite hit the mark, she and her partner Dan decided to build one themselves — right here in Dubbo, NSW.

Every kit is hand-assembled by Dan in our Dubbo store using 85% Australian-made components. No cheap fillers, no imported bulk packs — just quality gear that works when it matters most.

Samantha still trains, alongside Max and Neil, delivering nationally recognised first aid courses in Dubbo and surrounding areas. That real-world training experience is baked into every kit we build.

We're not a warehouse. We're not a big box retailer. We're a small Australian team who genuinely care whether you're prepared.
