Description

Built for trained first responders who need to manage life-threatening injuries before an ambulance arrives. The Assurance Trauma First Aid Kit is an IFAK-style MOLLE bag containing the equipment to respond to major bleeds, open chest injuries, snake bite, and burns in the field — not a general-purpose kit with a tourniquet thrown in as an afterthought.

Commonly carried as the personal on-body kit by field staff whose team carries the Remote Area Survival First Aid Kit as the group pack. The backpack stays in the vehicle — this kit stays on the person.

  • SOF Tactical Tourniquet Wide, HYFIN vent compact chest seal twin pack, RAPIDSTOP packing gauze, and military trauma and haemorrhage control bandage The equipment that matters when minutes count. The HYFIN chest seal manages open chest wounds — penetrating injuries that a standard first aid kit cannot address. The SOF Tactical Tourniquet Wide controls life-threatening limb bleeding. RAPIDSTOP packing gauze handles deep wound cavities where direct pressure alone fails. Read our guide on how to stop severe bleeding before an ambulance arrives for the context behind why each item is included.
  • Snake bite bandage with indicator, burn gel dressing, trauma shears, thermal blanket, and whistle Purpose-built for remote Australian environments where advanced care can be delayed. Snake bite is a real risk in the field environments this kit is designed for — the indicator bandage means any trained responder can apply pressure immobilisation correctly under stress. The whistle provides signalling capability when communications fail. The thermal blanket manages shock during extended patient care.
  • MOLLE-compatible bag — compact enough to carry on person, accessible fast Attaches to a main kit, backpack, or vest and stays there. The kit the group carries gets left in the vehicle — this one goes wherever the person goes. Compact enough to not interfere with work, accessible fast enough to matter when it does. Packed and inspected by hand in Dubbo, NSW — every item checked before dispatch.
Used by GoodSAM registered responders, VRA volunteers, NSW Rural Fire Service, SES, NSW National Parks and Wildlife remote field teams, and anyone operating in remote or high-risk environments where they may be the first and only qualified person on scene. Also suited to emergency vehicles and remote area vehicles as an on-body complement to a larger group kit. For a fixed worksite bleed control application, compare with the Major Bleed First Aid Kit. FAQs

Who is the Trauma First Aid Kit designed for?

The Trauma First Aid Kit is built for trained first responders who need to manage life-threatening injuries before an ambulance arrives. It is used by GoodSAM registered responders, VRA volunteers, NSW Rural Fire Service, SES, NSW National Parks and Wildlife remote field teams, and anyone who may be the first and only qualified person on scene.

What is included in this kit?

SOF Tactical Tourniquet Wide, HYFIN vent compact chest seal twin pack, RAPIDSTOP packing gauze, military trauma and haemorrhage control bandage, snake bite bandage with indicator, burn gel dressing, trauma shears, thermal blanket, and whistle. Housed in a MOLLE-compatible bag.

What does the HYFIN chest seal treat?

The HYFIN vent compact chest seal twin pack is used to manage open chest wounds — penetrating injuries where air enters the chest cavity and compromises breathing. This is a life-threatening injury that a standard first aid kit cannot address and one of the key reasons this kit is classified as a trauma kit.

How does this kit pair with the Remote Area Survival First Aid Kit?

The Remote Area Survival First Aid Kit is carried as the group pack — typically stored in the vehicle or base camp. The Trauma First Aid Kit is the personal on-body kit carried by individual field staff. The backpack stays in the vehicle; this kit stays on the person at all times.

Is this kit suitable for emergency vehicles?

Yes. The Trauma First Aid Kit is well suited to emergency vehicles, remote area vehicles, and any vehicle operated by trained first responders who may be first on scene at a serious incident.

How often should this kit be checked?

After every use and at minimum every 12 months. Refill items are available at assurancefirstaidkits.com.au.
