Description
The majority of Australian snake bites happen on the lower limbs — and correct pressure immobilisation of an adult leg requires a bandage long enough to wrap the entire limb from toes to groin without running out. Most standard bandages are not long enough. This one is.
The AeroForm Premium Long Snake Bite Bandage stretches to 10.5 metres — sufficient for full adult leg immobilisation in a single roll. Fits any of our snake bite kits and any existing first aid kit that needs a proper long bandage added to it.
- 10cm x 10.5m stretched — long enough for full adult leg immobilisation Wider and longer than standard crepe or elastic bandages. Correct pressure immobilisation technique requires wrapping the entire limb firmly from the bite site upward — a short bandage does not cover it and leaves the technique incomplete.
- Continuous tension indicators over the entire length Printed rectangles turn to squares when you have reached the correct compression — not just at one point on the bandage, but continuously from start to finish. Too loose and the technique does not slow lymphatic movement. Too tight and you restrict circulation. The indicator removes that guesswork, which matters when you are working under stress.
- Premium heavyweight conforming bandage — not a standard crepe The weight and stretch of the bandage affects how well it maintains pressure once applied. This is a purpose-built snake bite bandage, not a repurposed wound dressing. Understanding why bandage quality matters in pressure immobilisation is worth reading before you need it.
- Suited to all Australian snake bites, funnel-web spider bites, blue-ringed octopus, and cone shell stings Pressure immobilisation is the ANZCOR-recommended first aid response for all of these. It is not recommended for redback spider bites, jellyfish stings, stonefish, or scorpion stings — read our guide if you are unsure which technique applies to which creature.
