Description

The shorter bandage in the AeroForm range — sized for upper limb pressure immobilisation and paediatric use. At 4m stretched it covers an adult arm from fingers to shoulder, or a child's leg in a single roll. The same purpose-built construction and continuous tension indicators as the long version, in a more compact form.

Fits any of our snake bite kits and any existing first aid kit. If you need coverage for an adult leg, the long bandage (10cm x 10.5m) is the right choice — 4m is not sufficient for full adult lower limb immobilisation.

  • 10cm x 4m stretched — correct length for upper limb and paediatric use Sized to wrap an adult arm or a child's limb completely from the bite site upward in a single roll. Most Australian snake bites happen on the lower limbs — but upper limb bites do occur, and children require a shorter bandage than adults regardless of bite location.
  • Continuous tension indicators over the entire length Printed rectangles turn to squares when you have reached the correct compression — continuously from start to finish, not just at one point. Too loose and the technique does not slow lymphatic movement. Too tight and you restrict circulation. Correct pressure matters more than most people realise — and the indicator removes the guesswork when you are working under stress.
  • Premium heavyweight conforming bandage — not a standard crepe Purpose-built for pressure immobilisation, not repurposed from a wound dressing. The weight and stretch are designed to hold correct compression once applied — something a standard crepe or elastic bandage cannot reliably do.
  • Suited to all Australian snake bites, funnel-web spider bites, blue-ringed octopus, and cone shell stings Pressure immobilisation is the ANZCOR-recommended first aid response for all of these. It is not recommended for redback spider bites, jellyfish stings, stonefish, or scorpion stings — read our guide if you are unsure which technique applies.
Buy this to restock after an upper limb bite, to add a correctly sized bandage for children to your kit, or to carry a lighter option on day walks where arm bite coverage is your primary concern. For full adult leg coverage, pair with the long bandage. For a complete ready-to-go setup, browse the Assurance snake bite kit range — every house-built kit is packed and inspected by hand in Dubbo, NSW by a team with 18 years of Australian emergency care experience behind them.

FAQs

What size is this bandage?

10cm wide x 4 metres stretched. This length is suited to upper limb immobilisation and paediatric use — covering an adult arm from fingers to shoulder or a child's leg in a single roll.

Is this bandage long enough for an adult leg?

No. 4 metres is not sufficient for full adult lower limb immobilisation. For an adult leg bite, use the Snake Bite Bandage with Indicator — Long (Suits Legs) at 10cm x 10.5 metres.

How does the tension indicator work?

Printed rectangles on the bandage turn into squares when the correct compression has been reached. The indicators run continuously over the entire length of the bandage, removing the guesswork from applying pressure immobilisation under stress.

Who should carry this bandage?

This bandage is suited to anyone restocking a kit after an upper limb bite, adding a correctly sized bandage for children to an existing kit, or carrying a lighter personal option on day walks where arm bite coverage is the primary concern.

What conditions is this bandage used for?

Pressure immobilisation is the ANZCOR-recommended response for all Australian venomous snake bites, funnel-web spider bites, blue-ringed octopus stings, and cone shell stings. It is not recommended for redback spider bites, jellyfish stings, fish stings, or scorpion stings.
