Everything you need to know...

Description

A practical, budget-conscious way to add snake and spider bite coverage to your existing first aid kit — or to meet outdoor risk requirements without the cost of a full kit upgrade. This Aero-brand kit covers the essentials of pressure immobilisation technique and meets Australian Standard AS2675-1983.

It carries one tension indicator bandage, a splint, ice pack, and instruction leaflet — the core components you need to respond correctly while waiting for emergency services. For families, farms, or anyone spending extended time in remote areas, our house-built Snake Bite Plus and Snake Bite Max kits carry more bandages and broader coverage.

  • One tension indicator bandage (10cm x 10.5m) with heavyweight conforming bandage Most Australian snake bites happen on the lower limbs — correct pressure immobilisation means wrapping the entire limb firmly from the bite site up. The printed tension indicator shows when compression is correct: rectangles turn to squares at the right pressure, removing the guesswork when you are under stress.
  • Aluminium splint (90cm x 11cm), cotton calico triangular bandage, and non-woven gauze swab Immobilise the limb fully after bandaging to restrict movement and slow venom spread. Read our guide on why practising pressure immobilisation before you need it matters — technique under stress is harder than it looks.
  • Instant ice pack and snake bite marker The ice pack is indicated for redback spider bites where cold application is part of correct first aid. The marker lets you note the time and bite location directly on the bandage — critical information for the treating hospital when you cannot remove the dressing.
  • A5 snake bite instruction leaflet — Australian conditions Step-by-step guidance written for Australian snake and spider bites. Covers snakes, funnel-web spider bites, blue-ringed octopus stings, and cone shell stings — all managed with pressure immobilisation. Meets Australian Standard AS2675-1983.
This kit is well suited to anyone adding snake bite capability to an existing standard first aid kit, or meeting outdoor workplace risk requirements on a budget. If you spend regular time in rural areas, on farms, or with children and pets outdoors, the Assurance Snake Bite Plus carries two full-length bandages, gloves, trauma shears, thermal blanket, and tick removal tools — built and inspected by hand in Dubbo, NSW by a team with 18 years of Australian emergency care experience.
