Description

The wrong dressing on a wound causes a second injury at the change. A standard gauze pad or cotton dressing dries into the wound surface as blood and exudate coagulate — pulling it off disturbs the clot, reopens the wound, and causes unnecessary pain and tissue damage. Low adherent pads are designed specifically to avoid this — a non-stick wound contact surface that protects the injury, absorbs fluid, and comes off cleanly when the dressing needs to be changed.

TGA-approved, hospital-grade, hypoallergenic, and latex-free. A staple item in every WHS-compliant workplace first aid kit and a standard restock across workplaces, schools, sports clubs, and event medical setups across Australia.

  • Non-stick wound contact surface — minimal trauma on removal The low-adherent surface does not bond to the wound as exudate dries, which means the dressing can be removed or changed without disturbing the clot, reopening the wound, or causing unnecessary pain. For wounds that require multiple dressing changes — which is most workplace wounds managed over several days — this is the correct dressing to use from the first application.
  • Sterile, TGA-approved, and hospital-grade Individually packaged and sterile — ready to apply directly to a wound without additional preparation. TGA-approved to the same standard used in clinical settings. Hospital-grade construction provides reliable fluid absorption and wound protection through the working day without dressing failure.
  • Hypoallergenic and latex-free — suitable for all skin types Safe for all skin types including sensitive skin. Latex-free construction eliminates allergy risk in environments where individual sensitivities may not be known. Hypoallergenic materials reduce the risk of skin reaction around the wound site during extended wear.
  • Brightly coloured packaging for fast identification — available in multiple sizes Brightly coloured packaging allows rapid identification in a first aid kit under pressure — no sorting through identical white packets to find the right dressing. Available in multiple sizes to suit different wound dimensions. This product is not a substitute for direct medical attention from a trained healthcare practitioner. Ships from Dubbo, NSW within 2 business days.
A required restock item for every WHS-compliant workplace, school, sports, and event first aid kit. Use our First Aid Restock Form to track what has been used and stay audit-ready. FAQs

What is a low adherent pad used for in first aid?
A low adherent pad is a sterile wound dressing with a non-stick contact surface designed to protect a wound, absorb fluid, and be removed without sticking to the injury. Unlike standard gauze or cotton dressings, the non-adherent surface does not bond to the wound as exudate dries, allowing the dressing to be changed without disturbing the clot, reopening the wound, or causing unnecessary pain and tissue damage.

Why use a low adherent pad instead of a regular gauze dressing?
Standard gauze dressings dry into the wound surface as blood and exudate coagulate, causing pain and tissue damage when removed. Low adherent pads have a non-stick wound contact layer that prevents this bonding, allowing clean removal without disturbing the clot or reopening the wound. For any wound requiring more than one dressing change, a low adherent pad is the correct choice from the first application.

Are these pads TGA-approved?
Yes. These low adherent pads are TGA-approved and hospital-grade, meeting the same standard used in clinical settings. They are individually packaged and sterile, ready for direct wound application without additional preparation.

Are low adherent pads required in WHS-compliant first aid kits?
Yes. Wound dressings including low adherent pads are required items in WHS-compliant workplace first aid kits under the SafeWork Australia Code of Practice for First Aid. They are a standard inclusion in Type A and Type B kits and must be replaced promptly after use.

What sizes are available?
Low adherent pads are available in multiple sizes to suit different wound dimensions. Select the size appropriate for the wound being dressed — the pad should cover the wound and surrounding skin with adequate overlap on all sides. Check the size options at checkout.

Are these pads latex-free?
Yes. These low adherent pads are hypoallergenic and latex-free, suitable for all skin types including sensitive skin and environments where individual latex sensitivities may not be known in advance.

How quickly does this ship?
Low Adherent Pads ship from Dubbo, NSW within 2 business days.

About Assurance First Aid Kits

It started back in 2008 when Samantha, a first aid trainer, kept getting the same question from her students: "But what kit should I actually buy?" After years of recommending products that didn't quite hit the mark, she and her partner Dan decided to build one themselves — right here in Dubbo, NSW.

Every kit is hand-assembled by Dan in our Dubbo store using 85% Australian-made components. No cheap fillers, no imported bulk packs — just quality gear that works when it matters most.

Samantha still trains, alongside Max and Neil, delivering nationally recognised first aid courses in Dubbo and surrounding areas. That real-world training experience is baked into every kit we build.

We're not a warehouse. We're not a big box retailer. We're a small Australian team who genuinely care whether you're prepared.
