Description

Gloves are the first line of infection control in any first aid response — and the wrong gloves create their own risk. These Nitrile Powder-Free Examination Gloves are latex-free, powder-free, and designed for the full range of first aid and clinical support tasks where protection, grip, and dexterity all matter at the same time.

Nitrile is the correct choice for any shared first aid kit, workplace, school, or event setting where latex sensitivity cannot be confirmed in advance. A latex reaction during a first aid response is a secondary incident that is entirely avoidable — nitrile eliminates that risk without compromising glove performance.

  • Latex-free and powder-free — safe for all environments Latex allergies range from mild skin irritation to anaphylaxis. In a shared first aid kit used across a workforce, school, or event, the sensitivity status of the patient — or the first aider — may not be known. Nitrile eliminates latex risk entirely. Powder-free construction avoids the airborne latex protein exposure associated with powdered gloves and reduces skin irritation with repeated use.
  • Ambidextrous, anatomically shaped, with excellent flexibility and puncture strength Ambidextrous fit means no sorting under pressure — grab and go. The anatomical shaping provides a closer fit than a flat-cut glove, improving dexterity for wound care, dressing application, and instrument handling. Nitrile offers superior puncture resistance compared to latex, maintaining barrier integrity during procedures involving sharp instruments or debris.
  • Blue colour for easy split and contamination detection The blue colour provides clear visual contrast against skin and wound care materials, making it straightforward to detect tears, punctures, or contamination during use. If the glove is compromised, you can see it — and replace it before the barrier is lost.
  • Optimum wet and dry grip — box of 100 Textured fingertips provide grip in both wet and dry conditions — relevant in wound care where blood, irrigation fluid, and antiseptic solutions are all present. Box of 100 for workplace, school, and event first aid kits where regular restocking is part of compliance management. Ships from Dubbo, NSW within 2 business days.
A required item in WHS-compliant first aid kits across all workplace categories. Available in multiple sizes — select the correct size for your team at checkout. Download the Safety Data Sheet for full product specifications. Browse the full first aid kit supplies range for individual restock items, or use our First Aid Restock Form to stay audit-ready.

FAQs

Why use nitrile gloves instead of latex gloves in first aid kits?
Nitrile gloves eliminate latex allergy risk for both the first aider and the patient. Latex allergies range from mild skin irritation to anaphylaxis, and in a shared first aid kit the sensitivity status of anyone involved may not be known in advance. Nitrile also offers superior puncture resistance compared to latex, maintaining barrier integrity during procedures involving sharp instruments or debris.

Why are powder-free gloves recommended for first aid use?
Powder-free gloves avoid the airborne protein exposure associated with powdered latex gloves and reduce skin irritation with repeated use. In a first aid context, powder residue can also contaminate wounds and interfere with wound care procedures. Powder-free nitrile is the current standard for examination and first aid gloves in Australian healthcare and workplace settings.

Why are these gloves blue?
The blue colour provides clear visual contrast against skin and wound care materials, making it easy to detect tears, punctures, or contamination during use. If the glove is compromised, the blue colour makes it visible — allowing immediate replacement before barrier integrity is lost.

Are nitrile gloves required in WHS-compliant first aid kits?
Yes. Examination gloves are a required item in WHS-compliant first aid kits under the SafeWork Australia Code of Practice for First Aid. Nitrile powder-free gloves are the recommended standard for workplace first aid kits given their latex-free construction and superior puncture resistance.

How do I choose the right glove size?
These gloves are available in multiple sizes. Select the size that fits snugly without restricting movement — a glove that is too large reduces dexterity and increases the risk of tearing during use. If stocking a shared kit, consider carrying a range of sizes to suit different first aiders.

How many gloves come in a box?
Each box contains 100 gloves. The box format is suited to workplace, school, and event first aid kits where regular use and restocking are part of compliance management.

How quickly does this ship?

About Assurance First Aid Kits

It started back in 2008 when Samantha, a first aid trainer, kept getting the same question from her students: "But what kit should I actually buy?" After years of recommending products that didn't quite hit the mark, she and her partner Dan decided to build one themselves — right here in Dubbo, NSW.

Every kit is hand-assembled by Dan in our Dubbo store using 85% Australian-made components. No cheap fillers, no imported bulk packs — just quality gear that works when it matters most.

Samantha still trains, alongside Max and Neil, delivering nationally recognised first aid courses in Dubbo and surrounding areas. That real-world training experience is baked into every kit we build.

We're not a warehouse. We're not a big box retailer. We're a small Australian team who genuinely care whether you're prepared.
