Description

The cotton crepe bandage is one of the most versatile items in a first aid kit — and one of the most frequently used. Light compression for sprains and soft tissue injuries. Securing a low-adherent pad or combine dressing in place without tape. Supporting a swollen joint during the journey to hospital. Providing firm, even pressure over a wound dressing. One roll does all of it, and a kit without one is not fully equipped.

This 7.5cm x 1.5m Medium Cotton Crepe Bandage is the standard size for most adult limb applications — wide enough for knee, ankle, wrist, and forearm wrapping, long enough to complete the application with adequate overlap. Cotton crepe construction provides comfortable, breathable compression that conforms to body contours without cutting off circulation when applied correctly.

  • 7.5cm x 1.5m — standard size for adult limb applications The 7.5cm width suits ankle, knee, wrist, and forearm wrapping for most adult patients. At 1.5m unstretched the roll provides adequate length to complete a standard compression wrap with overlap and secure the end — not a compromised short roll that runs out before the application is finished. The most commonly used size in workplace and sports first aid.
  • Cotton crepe — breathable, comfortable, conforms to body contours Cotton crepe stretches evenly and conforms to the contours of the limb being wrapped, providing consistent compression without pressure points. Breathable cotton construction allows airflow through the bandage during extended wear — more comfortable for the patient than synthetic alternatives. The crepe weave provides the stretch that allows even application without special technique.
  • Secures dressings and provides light compression for soft tissue injuries Used to secure low-adherent pads, combine dressings, and wound dressings in place without adhesive tape — practical on limbs where tape does not adhere well over hair or contoured surfaces. Also used for light compression wrapping of sprains, strains, and soft tissue injuries to reduce swelling and provide support before or during transport for assessment.
  • Reusable, washable, WHS required Washable and reusable after cleaning — replace if the bandage loses elasticity, becomes contaminated in a way that cannot be adequately cleaned, or is cut during use. Cotton crepe bandages are a required inclusion in WHS-compliant workplace first aid kits under the SafeWork Australia Code of Practice. Ships from Dubbo, NSW within 2 business days.

FAQs

What is a cotton crepe bandage used for in first aid?
A cotton crepe bandage is used for light compression wrapping of sprains, strains, and soft tissue injuries, and for securing dressings in place on limbs without adhesive tape. It provides consistent, breathable compression that conforms to body contours and can be used on ankle, knee, wrist, and forearm applications for most adult patients.

What is the difference between a crepe bandage and an elastic bandage?
A cotton crepe bandage provides light, comfortable compression suited to dressing retention and minor soft tissue support. A heavyweight elastic bandage provides firmer compression suited to more significant sprains and strains where greater support is required. For standard workplace and general first aid use, the cotton crepe bandage is the correct inclusion. For sports kits managing higher-contact injuries, heavyweight elastic bandages provide additional compression capability.

Is a cotton crepe bandage required in WHS-compliant first aid kits?
Yes. Cotton crepe bandages are a required inclusion in WHS-compliant workplace first aid kits under the SafeWork Australia Code of Practice for First Aid. They are one of the most frequently used items in any active workplace kit — restock promptly after use.

Can this bandage be washed and reused?
Yes. Cotton crepe bandages are washable and reusable. Wash after use and inspect before returning to the kit. Replace if the bandage has lost elasticity, been cut, or cannot be adequately cleaned after contamination.

What size is this bandage and what limbs is it suited to?
This bandage measures 7.5cm wide x 1.5m long unstretched — the standard medium size suited to ankle, knee, wrist, and forearm applications for most adult patients. It provides adequate length to complete a standard compression wrap with overlap and secure the end without running short.

About Assurance First Aid Kits

It started back in 2008 when Samantha, a first aid trainer, kept getting the same question from her students: "But what kit should I actually buy?" After years of recommending products that didn't quite hit the mark, she and her partner Dan decided to build one themselves — right here in Dubbo, NSW.

Every kit is hand-assembled by Dan in our Dubbo store using 85% Australian-made components. No cheap fillers, no imported bulk packs — just quality gear that works when it matters most.

Samantha still trains, alongside Max and Neil, delivering nationally recognised first aid courses in Dubbo and surrounding areas. That real-world training experience is baked into every kit we build.

We're not a warehouse. We're not a big box retailer. We're a small Australian team who genuinely care whether you're prepared.
