Description

A cotton crepe bandage provides light compression for dressing retention and minor soft tissue support. When the injury is more significant — a serious sprain, a swollen joint that needs sustained compression, or a dressing over a high-movement area that needs to stay in place through activity — a heavyweight elastic conforming bandage is the correct tool. The heavyweight weave grips tighter, applies stronger compression, and resists loosening and slipping under movement in a way a standard crepe bandage cannot.

TGA approved, latex-free, and available in four widths — 5cm, 7.5cm, 10cm, and 15cm — to suit upper and lower limb applications across different patient sizes and injury locations. Individually wrapped for hygiene and rapid deployment. A standard inclusion in sports medical kits, advanced first aid kits, and trauma modules where firm, sustained compression is a realistic treatment requirement.

  • Heavyweight elastic weave — stronger compression, stays in place under movement The heavyweight construction applies and maintains firm, even compression over the wrapped area without loosening or slipping during patient movement. Standard crepe bandages relax and lose compression over time — the heavyweight elastic holds its tension through extended wear and active use. For sprains, significant swelling, and dressing retention over high-movement areas like elbows, knees, and ankles, this is the correct specification.
  • Conforms to limbs and joints without bunching — four widths available The conforming stretch allows the bandage to follow the contour of joints and limbs without bunching or creating pressure points. Available in 5cm, 7.5cm, 10cm, and 15cm widths — select the width suited to the limb and injury being wrapped. Narrower widths for wrists and ankles, wider widths for knees, thighs, and larger limbs.
  • Latex-free, breathable, individually wrapped — TGA approved Latex-free synthetic construction for use in environments where latex sensitivity cannot be confirmed. Breathable weave allows airflow during extended compression wear. Individually wrapped for hygiene and rapid deployment from a kit. TGA approved — the standard required for medical bandages in Australian clinical and first aid settings. Not sterile — apply over a sterile non-adherent dressing or wound pad, not directly over an open wound.
  • Suited to sports, trauma, advanced first aid, and workplace injury management Used in sports medical kits for sprain and strain management, in advanced first aid and trauma kits for dressing retention and swelling control, and in workplace first aid stations where high-contact injuries require firm compression. Secure with tape or a bandage clip — clip not included. Ships from Dubbo, NSW within 2 business days.
For light compression and dressing retention in standard workplace kits, the cotton crepe bandage is the correct format. The heavyweight elastic conforming bandage is the upgrade for sports kits, advanced first aid kits, and any application requiring firm, sustained compression. FAQs

What is the difference between a heavyweight elastic bandage and a standard crepe bandage?
A standard cotton crepe bandage provides light compression suited to dressing retention and minor soft tissue support. A heavyweight elastic conforming bandage applies and maintains firmer compression, resists loosening and slipping under movement, and is suited to more significant sprains, swollen joints, and dressing retention over high-movement areas. For standard workplace kit inclusion, the crepe bandage is correct. For sports kits and advanced first aid where firm, sustained compression is required, the heavyweight elastic is the correct specification.

What widths are available?
Elastic Heavyweight Conforming Bandages are available in four widths: 5cm for wrists and smaller limbs, 7.5cm for ankles and forearms, 10cm for knees and larger joints, and 15cm for thighs and larger limb applications. Select the width suited to the limb and injury being wrapped.

Are these bandages sterile?
No. These bandages are clean-packed but not sterile. They should be applied over a sterile non-adherent dressing or wound pad — not directly over an open wound. For wound coverage applications, always apply a sterile dressing to the wound first before securing with the elastic bandage.

Are these bandages latex-free?
Yes. These elastic conforming bandages are made from synthetic, latex-free, hypoallergenic materials suitable for all skin types.

How are these bandages secured after application?
Secure the end of the bandage with adhesive tape or a bandage clip. Clips are not included. Adhesive tape applied over the final wrap is the most reliable method for securing during active use.

Can these bandages be reused?
These bandages are intended as single-use. In non-sterile training or practice settings they may be reused if undamaged and clean, but should not be reused in a treatment context after deployment on a patient.

How quickly does this ship?
Elastic Heavyweight Conforming Bandages ship from Dubbo, NSW within 2 business days.

About Assurance First Aid Kits

It started back in 2008 when Samantha, a first aid trainer, kept getting the same question from her students: "But what kit should I actually buy?" After years of recommending products that didn't quite hit the mark, she and her partner Dan decided to build one themselves — right here in Dubbo, NSW.

Every kit is hand-assembled by Dan in our Dubbo store using 85% Australian-made components. No cheap fillers, no imported bulk packs — just quality gear that works when it matters most.

Samantha still trains, alongside Max and Neil, delivering nationally recognised first aid courses in Dubbo and surrounding areas. That real-world training experience is baked into every kit we build.

We're not a warehouse. We're not a big box retailer. We're a small Australian team who genuinely care whether you're prepared.
