Description

Burns from hot liquids, pans, BBQ grills, and oven doors happen fast — and in a home with children, they happen regularly. The Burn Gel Spray 50ml is a no-touch spray format that delivers immediate cooling relief directly to the burn site without rubbing, pressing, or any contact with the injured skin. For a child who is already distressed, a spray application is significantly easier to manage than a sachet or a gel applied by hand.

Water-based formula, safe for children's sensitive skin, and packaged in a 50ml bottle that fits in a kitchen drawer, handbag, pram bag, glovebox, or family first aid kit. The correct second step after 20 minutes of cool running water — used to soothe pain, limit further tissue damage, and protect the site before dressing is applied.

  • Spray application — no contact with the burn site The spray format delivers gel directly to the burn without touching the injured skin. In a home setting with a distressed child, no-contact application is faster, less traumatic, and easier to control than a sachet or hand-applied gel. Spray generously over the burn area after the 20-minute water cooling step — coverage without contact.
  • Water-based formula — safe for children, gentle on sensitive skin Over 90% water content — the same hydrogel mechanism as the sachet format, in a spray bottle. Cools on contact, relieves pain by reducing residual heat at the tissue level, and maintains a moist wound environment that supports healing. Non-toxic, non-stick, and safe for use on children including toddlers. Also suitable for minor sunburn and heat rash relief.
  • Use after 20 minutes of cool running water — then spray and cover Burn gel does not replace the water cooling step — it follows it. ANZCOR guidelines recommend 20 minutes of cool running water before any gel or dressing is applied. After cooling, spray the burn area generously, then cover with a non-stick dressing such as a low-adherent pad. The spray makes the second step fast and clean without additional preparation.
  • 50ml portable bottle — kitchen, handbag, pram, glovebox, first aid kit Compact enough to keep wherever burns are most likely to happen — kitchen drawer, family first aid kit, car glovebox, camping bag, or pram. 50ml provides multiple applications per bottle. The spray format does not dry out or degrade between uses the way an opened sachet does. Ships from Dubbo, NSW within 2 business days.
For workplace and event first aid kits where individual sterile single-use burn treatment is required, the 3.5g burn gel sachets are the correct format. The spray bottle is the practical home and family option. Download the Safety Data Sheet for full product specifications. Browse the full first aid kit supplies range for individual restock items.

FAQs

How do I use the Burn Gel Spray?
Cool the burn under cool running water for 20 minutes first — this is the most important step and the gel does not replace it. After cooling, spray the burn area generously with the burn gel spray. Cover with a non-stick dressing such as a low-adherent pad. Seek medical attention for any burn larger than a 20-cent coin, burns on the face, hands, feet, or joints, or any burn in a child that does not improve quickly.

Is this spray safe for children and toddlers?
Yes. The burn gel spray is water-based, non-toxic, and safe for use on children including toddlers. The spray format is particularly suited to children as it applies without direct contact with the burn site, reducing distress during application. For any burn injury in a child, always seek medical assessment after first aid.

What is the difference between this spray and the burn gel sachets?
Both use the same water-based hydrogel formula. The spray bottle is a practical reusable option for home, family, and portable use — compact, no-touch application, multiple uses per bottle. The 3.5g sachets are sterile single-use units suited to workplace and event first aid kits where individual sterile packaging is required for WHS compliance. For home use the spray is the more practical format; for workplace kits the sachets are the correct choice.

Can this gel be used on sunburn?
The burn gel spray is formulated for acute thermal burns but also provides soothing relief for minor sunburn and heat rash. For significant sunburn affecting large areas, seek medical advice.

Why does burn gel need to be applied after water cooling, not instead of it?
Cool running water removes heat from the tissue at the burn site — a process that takes 20 minutes to be effective. Burn gel cools the surface on contact but cannot remove deep tissue heat the way sustained water cooling does. Applying gel before completing the water step traps heat in the tissue and reduces the effectiveness of first aid. The water step comes first, the gel comes after.

About Assurance First Aid Kits

It started back in 2008 when Samantha, a first aid trainer, kept getting the same question from her students: "But what kit should I actually buy?" After years of recommending products that didn't quite hit the mark, she and her partner Dan decided to build one themselves — right here in Dubbo, NSW.

Every kit is hand-assembled by Dan in our Dubbo store using 85% Australian-made components. No cheap fillers, no imported bulk packs — just quality gear that works when it matters most.

Samantha still trains, alongside Max and Neil, delivering nationally recognised first aid courses in Dubbo and surrounding areas. That real-world training experience is baked into every kit we build.

We're not a warehouse. We're not a big box retailer. We're a small Australian team who genuinely care whether you're prepared.
